All the latest from Sweetwater North Arabians

SCOTTSDALE 2008

Are you going to the Scottsdale show this year? If so, be sure to check out our sister farm, Sweetwater Arabian Horses mare at the Cedar Ridge Sale. Out of Breath, is an Out of Cyte daughter out of a RSD Dark Victory/ Padron mare. She's a beauty and ready to start your breeding, showing or riding program off with a bang.

FALL 2007

We've kept in touch with Merlyn's new owners and trainer. He's settled in nicely and is progressing well under saddle, plus he's growing like a weed. I'm predicting you'll see him in the show ring next year in the JR Hunt seat classes. Here's some recent pictures.

SUMMER 2007

Congratulations to the Menzel family of Langley, BC on their purchase of SWN Merlyn. We are very happy that he has found his new family and will start a new adventure with a new owner. Good luck and happy riding!

With the baby and Myra's injury, it has kept us from producing any foals this year. We are hoping to change that in the Spring of 2008, with the breeding of Myra to Tamaal FA for a 2009 purebred foal. Enquiries are always welcome. As well, we have booked a breeding to our sister farm's new stallion, OFW Marshall. A Marwan colt out of a RSD Dark Victory/ Padron mare, i just couldn't help but book a breeding to this amazing young colt. We haven't decide who to breed this fine young stallion to yet and just might acquire a paint &/or palomino Quarter horse mare to start producing 'painted' arabians. Stay tuned for the search of our new mare.

OCTOBER 2006

IT'S A GIRL

A new kind of foal was born at SWN arabians, October 2006. Baby Allora, future arabian horse lover, has come into the family and enriched our lives beyond compare. A delightful baby, we've had our hands busy but we wouldn't change a thing.

SPRING 2005

Finally the long awaited moment, the birth of our first foal, SWN Merlyn. Born April 27th 2005, from our foundation mare OFW Myra, Merlyn is everything that we were hoping for and more. Merlyn is currently very leggy with a typey face, big eyes and the tippest ears I’ve seen in years. Although he looks like a Chestnut, he's actually a Wild Bay, with a blood red base, minimal black points and one white sock and a little star. He has the greatest personality and is growing up fast. With long straight legs, excellent shoulder and hip Merlyn is really showing some serious athletic ability and yet is typey enough to be seriously competitive in the Halter arena.
Sired by OFW Merlot, Merlyn could be your next herd sire or top notch gelding. Very well bred and currently being hand raised, Merlyn represents a unique opportunity to own a foal sired by an up and coming Stallion, OFW Merlot.
OFW Merlot is sired by RSD Dark Victory out of Almadeen by Almaden II. Well bred, athletic and beautiful, OFW Merlot has had a limited show career but has been quite successful. Merlot went top ten at Scottsdale 2005 5yr old Stallions with Michael Byatt ( 3rd on the cards) and is scheduled to go the US Nationals in 2005. As well Merlot was Unanimous Region 5 Champion in 2004 with Michael Byatt, 4 yr old stallions. Merlyn is offered for sale, please see our For Sale page for details.
